About the role
As a key member of the Operations team, the Operations Manager will work closely with our back-office teams to ensure tasks are being completed within our specific time range, handle any daily issues that arise and assist the VP of Operations with process improvement and overall efficiency.
- Direct reports – Warehouse Associate, located in Millersville, MD.
- Occasional visits are expected.
- Assist with shipping quotes as needed (when Warehouse associate is out on PTO)
- Review electronic and physical stock levels and make purchases as needed.
- Create weekly cycle counts for Warehouse Associate to complete and review accuracy.
- Handle day-to-day issues and questions from Warehouse and Purchasing teams.
- Lead bi-weekly team calls and act on items that need to be addressed or areas that need improvement.
- Make sure Team inboxes are up to date before end of day.
- Facilities Maintenance - Submit tickets to landlord if there are issues in the HQ office that need to be addressed.
- Work with outside vendors if there are issues with water dispensers, plants, etc.
- Submit IT purchase requisitions for approval and make subsequent purchases.
- Create new vendors within Microsoft Dynamics F&O ERP.
- Strong logistics background. Someone that is very familiar the ins and outs of domestic and international shipping as well as customs documentation and what is needed to clear shipments without issue.
- Proactive and natural born fixer. You can easily spot something that is out of place and enjoys solving problems.
- Experience in process improvement and efficiency.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with outside vendors and inside teams.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to show initiative.
